The views are exceptional and we’re incredibly lucky to have them all on our doorstep. Being a countryside venue we love it when our couples want to bring some of the stunning outdoors in, let’s discuss how to incorporate nature into your wedding.
The couples that marry with us seem to fall in love with the location almost instantaneously. Many are overjoyed by the thought of using our natural landscapes and rolling hills as a backdrop for their wedding. We like to think that a captivating outdoor setting adds a layer of romance to any wedding. If you have aspirations of incorporating nature into your wedding a venue in a more rural area is always a great start. Thankfully, there is no place that does it quite like Frensham Heights.
Interior decorations
One of the best ways to make the most of a wedding venue in nature is by incorporating local flowers and foliage into your decor. Surrey is known for its beautiful gardens and countryside, so consider using local flowers and plants in your centrepieces and bouquets. You could also incorporate elements of the local landscape into your decor. We recommend you discuss what’s viable with your florist as the availability of certain flowers will change with the season.

The Terrace & Lawn
The terrace and sweeping lawn lie along the south facade of Frensham Heights – accessible directly from the Ballroom, Orangerie and reception area. A flexible open space, the lawns lend themselves to summer games or modern marquees. The terrace is the perfect place to host drinks and canapés alfresco while soaking in the outstanding view.
The Walled Garden
The magical walled garden offers a wonderful location for an intimate outdoor wedding. Exquisite detailing and a pretty lined walkway frame a beautiful entrance for the wedding party. The raised belvedere cupola creates the perfect stage for wedding vows and beautiful photographs.
The Courtyard
Through ornate stone walls, the Courtyard sits just before the main entrance to Frensham Heights. A sheltered, enclosed area, the Courtyard lends itself to traditional grand entrances and exit, but has also hosted a small ferris wheel and bouncy castle in its time.
The Treehouse
The beauty of Frensham Heights really does lie in the wealth of opportunities which allow for the most unique events. Just beyond the main house, nestled on the edge of the woods, sits our magical Treehouse perfect for an intimate woodland ceremony or as a quirky hub to sit alongside your main event.
The Woodlands
Beyond the drive and our unique Treehouse runs an expanse of mature woodland. Following the leafy trails, guests can stretch their legs and soak in the fresh country air. Equally, wedding photographers will have a plethora of natural backdrops to capture memorable moments of the day.
If you’re having a wedding in nature, taking advantage of the great outdoors for your wedding photos is a must. Surrey is well-known for its stunning countryside, so why not use it as the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos? You could have your photographer capture beautiful shots of you and your partner against the backdrop of some luscious rolling hills.
Although the view may not be officially part of our glorious grounds, but we can’t miss out this masterpiece of nature. Regardless of the season, rain or shine, this stunning view is sure to take your guests’ breath away. We know we can’t take the credit for this majestic backdrop, but Frensham Heights wouldn’t be quite the same without it.
Menu
Incorporating some local products into your wedding menu is a great touch that some people may not even notice. Despite this, it adds massively to the day and is excellent for the environment and the local farmers in Surrey. We have a talented in-house catering team that prides itself on its abundant use of local produce for our wedding menus. Our in-house caterers provide exceptional quality, creativity and high standards of service. Surrey is home to many fantastic local producers, so consider making the most of what’s available in your wedding menu.
